I’ve been sewing, sewing, sewing leaves onto the Green Man. Prana has been helping:
I’ve been working on a new leaf. I found this pattern via Crafty Galore’s blog. This is acrylic boucle so I took Prana’s cat brush to fluff up the leaves.
Speaking of Prana, he wanted to help with the photoshoot:

I’ve been working on more leaves for the Green Man. These are my Pinon branches:
I knit I-cord and then threaded bits of green yarn randomly through them. It took awhile but I’m pretty happy with the results.
The next batch are rain forest leaves.
Like I’ve mentioned before Prana loves the Green Man project. He insisted on being in this photot shoot. Apparently he thinks the leaves need more felting:
I sewed some leaves onto the Green Man canvas.
Prana loves the Green Man. He acts like it’s half cat bad/half cat toy. He just noms on the leaves so I let him get away with it. I figure he’s helping me to felt the fleece down when he makes biscuits on it.
Oh man, I need to make a bunch more leaves! I have about forty more to add today.

But it’s turning out like my vision so that’s good.
I finished spinning up my gray fleece that I bought at the 2008 Taos Wool Festival.
Here’s what I started with:
I got a bit over 300 yards.
That seems kind of small considering the huge bag of fleece I bought. I did spin it into a bulky two ply. The mini skein was leftovers on one bobbin that I spun up Navajo style.
This fleece was scratchy and full of veggie matter so a bulky weight seemed best.

I was listening to the Sticks and Strings Podcast. It’s a good show.
Prana is still as cute as ever. Here he is sleeping:
Lori from the Yarn Store gave me a bunch of old yarn samples. I cut them up and am saving them for more Chaos Yarn. Prana was so cute curled up with the scraps that I had to take a pic.
It looks like there’s creativity blossoming out him. Cats are creators of happiness to me so it fits.
I’ve been doing some energy work. Abbey made me a meditation mat for my woo woo. I love it!
Merce helped with it too. It’s made of felt and knitting and is so comfortable to sit on.
Prana absolutely loves it. He regularly sleeps there and we play with his mousie on it. The last time Abbey was over he rubbed up against her to say thanks.
Sometimes when I do my energy work I have to work around him because Prana won’t budge. He’s so cute though so I don’t mind.
I made a cozy for my Swift out of a pair of old yoga pants. Prana wanted to be in the photo shoot.
Basically I cut the pants in half and used one leg for the cozy. I sewed up the bottom and made a hem at the opening.
I sewed a little tie for the end.
The pants had cute embroidery on the bottom. The flowers are on both sides.
Recently I strung up the loom for the first time. I used some Peruvian yarn a friend brought me back from her vacation. I got a little help:

This is just a practice run. I like my results so far:
The shrug is blocking and is almost dry. Prana is keeping watch.
Thebes kilt hose are done and he likes them. Photos of both projects will be posted soon.
