Lizzie says “The Textile Arts carry a thread of history nearly lost to modern humans of the divine connection between the earth (the original Goddess) and Ourselves. The image language of the Textile traditions of Western Asia (Oriental Carpet and Kilim weaving) represents an unbroken link to this thread of history and the generations of women who have carried this lineage remain to be my greatest teachers. Each piece I create exists in homage to this tradition and in an attempt to carry this thread through to my life and to those who encounter it through my work in felt. Mine is a cry for connection to our origins and the inner divinity that makes us all blessedly individual, while simultaneously linking our existence to one another creating the web of life.”
