Abbey’s Xmas present

Abbey and I exchanged presents early. She celebrates Hanukkah and I celebrate Yule so we exchange Christmas presents as our middle holiday. I spun her up 348 yards of heathered gray fleece.

She loves it! I’m really happy with how it turned out.

I spun it thick and did a two ply.

One bobbin had some leftover yarn after plying so I Navajo plied it.

I bought a pound of fleece for this project.

I’m so happy how the gray turned out heathered.

Shawl and sock

Nancy one skein shawl

I finished up the Nancy One Skein Shawl. At first I wasn’t sure I liked it. I’m not used to wearing shawls. They’re a new clothing accessory for me. But I’ve been wearing it off and on and I’m starting to like it. I’m not sure if it needs to be blocked.

Noro lace socks

Abbey gave me a gift of Noro sock yarn for finishing Thebes’ heirloom sweater. I love the colors! I decided to use the lace sock pattern that I had used for the other Noro sock yarn I had.

That first Noro sock yarn ended up being too small so I frogged it. The one above ended up being too big so I frogged it too.

The too large size was a surprise. I used the sock recipe from the book Simple Socks. All of my other socks have been a size large since I have wide feet. This time I’m going to make the medium size and hope that does the trick.
