An oops on Samus

I’m on the end shaping of the sleeves for Samus. There’s an increase part then several inches of stockinette. After that I start decreasing.

Before decreasing I count my stitches to double check. I have 78. I’m supposed to have 80. Gah!

Am I frogging several inches of stockinette to correct this problem? Nooooo. I’m going to knit on because really it’s only two stitches. Surely I can fix that in blocking right? I hope so.

Samus, Seattle and the So Much Yarn store

Abbey wore her Samus in front of me the other day (though she still has to put in the zipper) so I knew that it was time to step up on my Samus. I got the sleeve cuffs done:

Thebes and I were recently in Seattle for biz. I found a local yarn store called So Much Yarn. You can sort of see their logo on the door and you can see Thebes in one of his kilts.

Sandy and Ginger were working when we came in and were very helpful. There was a lot of great yarn in the store. I bought the pattern for the hat I’m wearing in the pic below. It’s the Fiber Trends Braid and Bobble hat. I have some green yarn left over from my Arwen sweater that I’m thinking of using.

Did I buy yarn? Oh yeah baby!

Mountain Colors yarn

I bought two skeins of Mountain Colors yarn in the Mountain Tango colorway. Each skein is 100 grams. I’m not sure what to make with it but am leaning towards a fancy scarf of some kind.

There should be another picture here. But the additional purchase is a birthday present for a certain someone who reads my blog. As soon as I give it to her I’ll post the pic.

Samus Progress

You know what the picture below means?

Samus

It means I’m done with the body of Samus! While I enjoy the relaxing nature of stockinette the body seemed to take a long time. I’m now working on the wrist cuffs. Abbey suggested knitting them at the same time which is a great idea. She knit the sleeves at the same time on circular needles which I’ll be doing as well. I’m determined to finish this sweater this month.

We got more snow recently. Prana hung around a bit outside. But on the whole he’s an inside kitty this winter with the cold temperatures we’ve been having. He’s such a cutie.

Prana outside in the snow.

Sieben on the other hand loves the snow. He’ll run laps around me and open his mouth wide to shovel snow into it. Here we are playing frisbee.

End on first row of cable pattern so both ends will match. I didn’t do that in my scarf and though not a big deal you can still tell below.

Harry Potter scarf

I put markers on each side of the cables so I wouldn’t have to count stitches.

Fringe
Put 28 pieces of fringe on ends. Pull on knots to secure and then trim bottoms to even them up.
