I finished my to-be-felted bowl. It turned out a little smaller than expected. I’m not sure how much it will shrink. If it’s a lot maybe I can use it as change bowl? I’m using Penguin to model before and after felting pics:

For my next stash felt project I started playing with design. I figured out how to make these groovy diamonds:

I took out the last few rows because I didn’t like mixing the two colors and replaced it with solid red. Penguin models for me:

I’m almost done with the bowl and have enough stash wool yarn for another project. The bottom was free form and a little poofy. Felting is a near magical process like blocking right?
This is turning into a fun side project. It’s pretty mellow knitting which is nice. I’m almost done with the orange yellow socks. Then I move onto…what? I’m not sure. Kilt hose for Thebes, a sweater for me, a baby hat and baby socks for my friend Sera’s upcoming baby shower?
OK, I have to ask…does this mean you’re out of stash? If so, what does it feel like? :0) I have enough yarn at home to fill another small yarn store…last year my goal was to knit it all up for charity (needless to say, I didn’t get through it all). I am torn between thinking it must be a great freedom to have no stash and pretty lonely…would love to know what you think…
What a colorful project! I’ve also had a felting obsession for a few years – I’ve made dozens of felted tea cozies from Kureyon (2005 holiday and wedding gifts), and more felted clogs and slippers than I care to admit (including a few glittery shaggy versions for the niecelets). It’s always such an adventure to toss the wool into the soapy water and see what comes out ….
Martie-I still have some stash, enough to fill a walmart bin with some room to spare. There was a lot of freedom knitting from my stash. I felt I could experiment more. It does feel good to buy yarn again though. It certainly inspires me to start new projects.
TK-Felted clogs? Ohhhh, I’d like to make some of those. I bet they are so comfortable to wear.
